What Are Ice Bags Made Of?
Our ice bags are made from a specialized blend of resins designed for freezer applications:
- Metallocene LLDPE (Linear Low-Density Polyethylene): Provides exceptional tear resistance and puncture strength – up to 40% stronger than traditional LDPE. This means fewer bag failures and less product loss.
- EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) Copolymer: Critical additive that prevents brittleness at freezing temperatures. Standard polyethylene becomes brittle below 32°F – EVA keeps bags flexible and puncture-resistant even at -10°F. FDA-approved for direct food contact.
Result: Superior clarity (better shelf appeal), high gloss finish, and maximum durability in cold storage and freezer environments. All ice bags are recyclable (#4 LDPE).
